“lol ive only gone up to 3lb cuz when i fish linear,yateley, or the home of the 30s orchid lakes the rods will cope with the long range fshing casting that i like doing..i still got a few 2.5 tc rods for the close in work but i tend to fish long range for most of me fishing.”

“3lb test for long distance is probably about right.. You dont want to be snapping off or worse snapping the rod when casting..I dont tend to fish many lakes that you need to cast out too far but if I did i would probably use 2.75 at the most..

I guess its a personal preference... i have heard of people who wouldnt even dare use anything less than 3lb for close range purely cause they prefer the feel... Which is something that I cant understand. The lighter the rod the more feel. ”
